GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - It's officially the season of crisp fall air and football!
The first official pep rally for ECU football, "Freeboot Friday" is back this Friday, September 20 ahead of Saturday's home game against William and Mary.
This will be the first freeboot event of the season after the original kick off was cancelled due to Hurricane Dorian.
ECU Head Football Coach Mike Houston will make his first ever appearance at the event. He will take the stage at 6:45 pm to rally the crowd and get fans excited for the Pirates second home game of the season.
"We want to give him a really fantastic welcome," said Meredith Hawke with Uptown Greenville.
The event will also feature live music, GUC bucket truck rides, food trucks and other events for the whole family to enjoy.
Freeboot Friday run from 5:30 pm- 8:30 pm.
"It gives you a little time to get off work, change into your purple and gold and get the kids ready and bring the whole family out for this whole family affair," said Hawke.
The event is free at Five Points Plaza on the corner of 5th and Evans Street in Uptown Greenville.
