PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Deputies have charged one of the two people that was shot this morning in Pitt County.
Tylif Staton, 18, of Greenville has been charged with attempted murder.
The Pitt County Sheriff's Office says that Devonta Washington, 26, of Greenville is being treated at Vidant Medical Center and was undergoing surgery as of this afternoon.
We're told deputies responded to a home on Pacific Circle off Old River Road around 9:48 a.m. for a person who has been shot during an altercation.
Officials say a second person who had been shot was located in the Cypress Sands Mobile Home Park about 3/10ths of a mile from the scene.
Investigators say one person shot was taken to Vidant Medical Center by personal vehicle, the other was taken by ambulance.
Staton was treated and released from Vidant and then taken into custody by detectives.
Staton is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1.5 million bond.
No further charges are expected in the case.
Not many details are being released after two people were shot this morning in one Pitt County neighborhood.
It happened sometime before 10:00 a.m. on Old River Road, that's northwest of Greenville.
Sgt. Lee Darnell with the Pitt County Sheriff's Office said the two victims showed up at Vidant Medical Center.
A mobile home on Pacific Circle, which is off Old River Road, seemed to be the center of activity with the residence marked off with crime scene tape with multiple deputies and crime scene investigators at the scene.
Sgt. Darnell said at this point there's no word on the condition of the victims or where they were shot.
