The FBI is looking into possible child porn activity in Lenoir County after a former resident was found with illegal computer files in upstate New York

Colonie, New York police have charged Brennan McNeil, 25, of Albany, with four counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child.

Lt. Robert Winn says McNeil lived in Pink Hill for the past three years, and moved back to New York state in May where he is originally from.

Police say an investigator from their Computer Crimes Unit last month received 43 child porn files from McNeil's IP address while working undercover. They searched the man's home and he was ultimately arrested.

While New York police say there's no evidence that McNeil had any contact with underage victims in the Albany area, they do say there is evidence showing possible illegal contact with underage victims here in North Carolina.

Lt. Winn says that part of the investigation has been turned over to the FBI.

McNeil is jailed on a $50,000 bond in the Albany County Correctional Facility.
