Emerald Isle Bridge project begins Wednesday night

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - If you are heading to the Crystal Coast, you may need to prepare for traffic for the next few months.

Work is set to begin Wednesday night on the Emerald Isle Bridge. One lane of traffic will be closed overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through March 15th.

The NCDOT says the work is part of the Atlantic Beach-Emerald Isle preservation project, which includes repairs to the Atlantic Beach Bridge that began in 2018. The project costs about $15 million.
