Elizabeth City Police investigate pedestrian hit

ELIZABETH CITY, PASQUOTANK COUNTY (WITN) - Police in one eastern Carolina city are investigating after they say a driver hit a pedestrian.

The Elizabeth City Police Department received the call at about 2:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Hughes Boulevard and Sawyer Street.

Officials said Samantha Winslow, 20, was hit by James Blount, 78, and transported to Sentara Albemarle Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
