HATTERAS INLET, N.C. (WITN) - Eight people are safe Friday morning thanks to a U.S. Coast Guard crew that saved them from a sinking boat.
The U.S. Coast Guard was called Thursday afternoon to help people aboard the boat "Good Times," which was taking on water near Hatteras Inlet.
Helicopter and boat crews helped all eight people get back to shore. They were taken to Hatteras Inlet, then eventually Scott Boatyard in Buxton.
There's no word on what caused the boat to start sinking.
