Easter egg hunts happening this weekend

EASTERN CAROLINA, N.C. (WITN) - Easter is Sunday and many community Easter egg hunts are happening across the east this weekend.

In Pitt County, the Leroy James Farmers Market is hosting its first-ever Community Easter Egg Hunt at the Farm Life Museum on Saturday. It will be rain or shine starting at 10:30 a.m.

The third annual Community Easter Egg Hunt starts at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Pink Hill, with designated areas for kids up to 12 years old. There is also a designated area for children with special needs and a free hot dog lunch.

In Atlantic Beach, the town's first Helicopter Egg Drop for kids up to 12 years old starts at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, with free mini-golf and a hot dog lunch.

Lastly, in Kinston, the Neuseway Nature Park is hosting a Community Egg Hunt with face painting, gardening and other activities starting at 9 a.m.

With the rain Eastern Carolina has seen over the past day, you may want to double-check these events are happening as planned. We haven't heard any different at this time.
