Early voting underway in various Eastern Carolina municipalities

It's time for another election here in the east.

This time there are several races for mayor and board of commissioners in many Eastern Carolina towns and cities.

People in Pitt County will vote for a mayor in Ayden, Bethel, and Greenville. Greenville residents will also vote for open city council district seats, as well as council at-large.

The race for Greenville mayor includes current mayor P.J. Connelly, Demetrius Hicks, and Renee Boston Hill.

Early voting also begins Wednesday in Beaufort County for the City of Washington. Residents are voting for mayor and the race is between current mayor Mac Hodges and Marshall Thurmon. There are also several names on the ballot for council.

Beaufort County early voting is at the Board of Elections.

Other municipalities having elections include Jacksonville, Kinston, Havelock, Morehead City, Kenansville, Snow Hill, Williamston, Winterville, and Plymouth.
