ENC State of Emergency and evacuation list

Counties, cities and towns here in the East have announced evacuations, state of emergencies and actions plans.

Here’s a running list of what we know so far:

BEAUFORT COUNTY

A State of Emergency has been declared for Beaufort County. Beaufort County has now declared a mandatory evacuation of all flood prone and low-lying areas of the county.

CAMDEN COUNTY

A mandatory evacuation is in effect for the Shiloh area and south.

CARTERET COUNTY

A State of Emergency has been declared for the entire county as well as voluntary evacuations.

Mandatory evacuations will go into effect at noon on Wednesday for all Down East portions of Carteret County & from North River to South River.

The Town of Beaufort has issued a mandatory evacuation starting at 3pm Tuesday. A curfew will begin at sunset on Thursday.

Atlantic Beach also has mandatory evacuations. The town is encouraging all residents to evacuate by 10 am Thursday.

Other towns have issued their own State of Emergency including Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Pine Knoll Shores, Morehead City, Beaufort, Indian Beach, Cape Carteret.

CRAVEN COUNTY

Craven County has declared a state of emergency as well as the city of New Bern and Havelock.

A voluntary evacuation order has been issued by Craven County for residents living in Zone A

CURRITUCK COUNTY:

State of emergency is in effect and mandatory evacuations for the Outer Banks communities of Corolla and Carova will begin Wednesday at 8 a.m.

DARE COUNTY

-State of emergency and mandatory evacuations are in effect for tourists and residents.

DUPLIN COUNTY

State of emergency declared. Voluntary evacuation issued but recommended for low lying areas.

HYDE COUNTY

State of emergency and mandatory evacuations are in effect for Ocracoke Island.

LENOIR COUNTY

Due to Hurricane Dorian approaching the area, a State of Emergency will take effect in Lenoir County, North Carolina at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

State of emergency declared in Kinston

MARTIN COUNTY

A State of Emergency has been declared in Martin County and goes into effect at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 4th.

Martin County says a curfew will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 and will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019. They add there shall be no sale, consumption, transportation, or possession of alcoholic beverages beginning at 8:00 p.m. on September 5, 2019 and ending at 6:00 a.m. on September 6, 2019, except on one’s personal premises.

ONSLOW COUNTY

A State of Emergency has been declared for the entire county as well as voluntary evacuations.

City and towns within the county have also issued their own State of Emergency including North Topsail Beach, Surf City, Holly Ridge and Richlands.

Surf City is under a mandatory evacuation for all tourists/visitors as of 12 p.m. Tuesday. A mandatory evacuation for residents will begin Wednesday at 12 p.m.

PAMLICO COUNTY

State of emergency is in effect as well as a voluntary evacuation order that began at 8 a.m.

PASQUOTANK COUNTY

A mandatory evacuation is in effect for south of the Elizabeth City Regional Airport.

The Oxford Heights community of Elizabeth City is under a mandatory evacuation.

PITT COUNTY

A state of emergency has been declared starting Wednesday.

State of emergency goes into effect at 5 p.m. for Greenville

ROCKY MOUNT

A State of Emergency has been declared for Rocky Mount.

TYRRELL COUNTY

A state of emergency has been declared for the county and a voluntary evacuation order will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

The entire county and municipalities of Plymouth, Roper, and Creswell are under a state of emergency. A voluntary evacuation of residents located within low-lying and residents of mobile homes has been declared.

A curfew is in effect in the above areas of Washington County from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.
