East Carolina University trustees will decide next week whether or not to allow alcohol to be served at athletic events.

Gov. Roy Cooper signed the bill into law last week that allows the state's public universities the option to sell beer and wine at games on campus.

ECU trustees have added the topic to next Friday's meeting in Greenville.

Supporters of on-campus alcohol sales say it could control game-day consumption and lead to fewer alcohol-related problems.
