Duplin County bridge to be replaced
An Eastern Carolina bridge will be closed for the next four months starting Monday.
The DOT is replacing the Church Road bridge over Little Limestone Creek in Duplin County. Work on the replacement starts at 7 a.m. Monday. The existing bridge was built in 1956 and is considered obsolete because it does not meet current safety regulations.
The new bridge will have updated drainage structures and reinforced areas to prevent ponding on the roadway and washouts. The work is expected to last until Nov. 1st.
