LENOIR COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A driver is facing charges after an early morning three car accident in Lenoir County.
The Highway Patrol responded to the wreck at the intersection of Hwy. 70 and Hwy. 11/55 at 5:45am Tuesday.
Troopers say a driver traveling east on Hwy. 70 ran a red light and hit a car going north on Hwy. 11/55. The driver who was hit was taken to the hospital. It's unclear how seriously he or she was injured.
No one else was hurt. The third car involved was grazed during the collision.
Traffic was diverted around that intersection until about 6:15am and was flowing normally as of 7am.
Trooper L. Geletka says charges are pending against the driver accused of running a red light.
