"Jingle & Mingle" shopping event supports women-owned businesses

WASHINGTON, NC (WITN) - The Washington Women's Business Co-op (WWBC) is hosting an early evening shopping event throughout the downtown area to encourage holiday shoppers to support local and women-owned businesses.

More than thirty local businesses will have extended hours on Thursday, December 6 and many will offer sales, discounts and treats.

Luminaries and balloons will identify the participating businesses and customers will be able to register to win a free gift basket at each one.

"Jingle & Mingle" runs from 4-8pm on Main and Market streets in Washington.

The Washington Women's Business Co-op is a non-profit group that supports women business owners in downtown Washington. Our focus is on promoting downtown and encouraging visitors and locals to support their small town businesses. Washington businesses located on Main and Market streets are unique . Over 70% of these businesses are owned by women or wives and their husbands. The co-op shares advertising and creates family events that bring people to downtown Washington.
