GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) North Carolina Senator Don Davis is weighing in after the Democratic party won enough seats in the state legislature to break the Republican's veto-proof majority.
Democrats are pleased with the number of seats now filled by members of their party in the state legislature.
Davis says super majority's, like the state Republicans held, lead to extreme ideas. He says he hopes members of both party's will work better together as a result.
"Now this forces us to actually talk to each other, to actually negotiate and work through the hardest issues to get to the best policy," Davis says.
Davis adds he believes bi-partisan governing will force elected officials to communicate better with their constituents as well.
