Dive team conducting search as part of "ongoing investigation" in Havelock

HAVELOCK, N.C. (WITN)- Several law enforcement agencies including a dive team are conducting an investigation at a bridge in Havelock.

An official with the Craven County Sheriff's Office would only say that the search at the bridge on Highway 70 is part of an ongoing investigation.

Deputies say the investigation involves multiple agencies including NCIS, SBI, the Craven County Sheriff's Office, Bridgeton Police, Havelock Police, and Wildlife officers.

The dive team from the Onslow County Sheriff's Office was brought into to search sections of Slocum Creek.

WITN asked if this has any relation to the search for a Camp Lejeune Marine deserter Michael Brown, who is wanted for murder out of Virginia, and officials said it does not.
