Arrest made in murder of Goldsboro rapper

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - An arrest has been made in the murder of an aspiring rapper here in Eastern Carolina.

Wayne County deputies say Cornell Ashford, of Goldsboro, was nabbed today in Sampson County after an anonymous tip.

The 24-year-old Ashford is charged with Sunday morning's stabbing death of Endeavor McDonald on Dollard Town Road outside of Goldsboro. McDonald went by "YBM BREEZY".

Deputies say McDonald and another man got into a fight at his home and a third man jumped in with a knife. The rapper died in the driveway.

Ashford is being held without bond on the murder charge.

Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Sunday morning in one Eastern Carolina county.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says they found Endeavor McDonald, 26, suffering from an apparent stab wound outside of his home at 929 Dollard Town Rd. shortly after 11 a.m.

Emergency response crews attempted life-saving measures, but McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the victim and a male subject got into an altercation, when a second male subject approached with a knife.

Multiple individuals have been interviewed, and investigators say that are actively looking for a person of interest.
