No charges in deadly convenience store shooting

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) -- Deputies say there will be no charges after a deadly shooting at a convenience store last weekend in Edgecombe County.

The shooting happened Saturday at Bob's Fuel in Conetoe. Raekwon Hines was found shot and later died.

Deputies say based on surveillance video and witnesses, they learned that the 24-year-old Hines was killed in self-defense.

After consulting with the District Attorney's Office, they have determined that the shooter will not face any charges.

Deputies in Edgecombe County are investigating a shooting that took place at a convenience store on Saturday.

According to a press release, deputies were called to Bob's Fuel in Conetoe, formerly Conetoe Discount, late in the afternoon.

When deputies arrived they found the 24-year old man had been shot in the head.

The man was taken to the hospital but later died.

No other details are being released as the investigation continues.
