Brothers wanted in weekend murder go before judge
Two Craven County brothers accused of killing a Kinston man went before a judge this morning.
Jamie Wilson, Jr., 27, and 25-year-old Christopher Wilson will be continued to be held without bond.
The two turned themselves in on Sunday after deputies named them as suspects in the shooting.
It happened Saturday in the Fort Barnwell area.
Deputies say 51-year-old Reginald Shackleford, of Kinston, died at the scene.
District Attorney Scott Thomas says a fight broke out between the three men at a convenience store just miles from where the shooting took place.
A judge this morning gave both men court-appointed attorneys and set their next court date for June 12th.
Two brothers accused of murder have turned themselves in according to the Craven County Sheriff's office.
Both Christopher Wilson and Jamie Wilson Jr. were charged with an open count of murder and are being held without bond.
The two are accused of shooting and killing another man in the Fort Barnwell area of Craven County on Saturday evening.
Both suspects have a felony first appearance scheduled for June 1.
Two brothers are on the run, accused of murder, following a shooting in Craven County Saturday evening.
Deputies were called to the area of Highway 55 and Jimmy Smith Road in Fort Barnwell shortly before 4:30 p.m.
When they got there they found one man who had been shot. He died at the scene.
Investigators identified, Christopher Wilson, 25, and Jamie Wilson Jr, 27, of Kinston, as the suspects.
Warrants have been issued for an open count of murder.
