DEPUTIES: Woman arrested for attempted murder after setting fire to ex-boyfriend's home

WAYNE COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A woman has been charged with attempted first degree murder after deputies say she set fire to her ex-boyfriend's home last month.

Wayne County deputies say Yalander Latham, of Dudley, was seen banging on the door and windows of the home when they arrived back on November 18th.

Deputies were called to the Dudley home around 1:45 a.m. for a possible domestic dispute.

Latham left as deputies arrived. As they approached the home, they smelled a strong odor of gasoline.

Deputies then saw one side of the home was on fire, those inside were alerted and the fire was put out.

Latham was charged with first degree arson and attempted first degree murder. She was jailed on a $100,000 secured bond.
