DEPUTIES: Wife & another woman tried to get sex crimes victim to change her story

PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - More charges have been brought in a sex crimes case after deputies say the wife of the suspect and another woman tried to get the victim to change her story.

Wilson / Wilson / Jenkins

Daniel Wilson was arrested last month by Pitt County deputies for statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, statutory sexual offense with a child, as well as another sex charge.

Now, Wilson, his wife, Lois, and Melissa Jenkins, all of Grimesland, are charged with felony obstruction of justice.

Deputies say the two women contacted the victim in the case and asked her to recant the statement she made to deputies.

The two women posted $10,000 bonds on Monday and were released.

The bond for Wilson is now $2,065,000 and he remains behind bars.
