Craven County woman wins lottery again

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) Most people don't get the chance to experience a lottery win once, but one woman in Vanceboro is celebrating her second.

Genia Harrell won a $50,000 Powerball prize three days before her wedding in 2018.

Then, exactly one year later on her one year anniversary, she won a $5,000 lottery in the October Lucke-Rewards drawing.

Harrell says winning two lotteries on her just before her wedding day and on her anniversary is a sign that their marriage is meant to be.

Harrell used the money from her first prize to pay for her honeymoon in Charleston.

This time, she said she's going to use the money to make Christmas something her and her husband will remember.
