Deputies find drug suspect after standoff
Deputies say they found a man suspected of multiple drug crimes after a several hour-long standoff Thursday.
Nicholas Daugherty was discovered at a home on Highway 55 in Cove City. When deputies tried to arrest the man, he barricaded himself inside and threatened to hurt himself.
A week ago, deputies said they were looking for the 31-year-old man for felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin and a Schedule III controlled substance, as well as multiple possession charges.
Deputies say they were able to safely take Daugherty into custody.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond. They say it Daugherty makes bond he will be required to be on electronic monitoring.
Investigators with the Craven County Sheriff's Office need your help finding 31-year-old Nicholas Daugherty of Cove City.
