Correctional officer accused of bringing contraband into Greene County prison

A correctional officer is facing charges after investigators say he was found with drugs on him at an Eastern Carolina prison.
Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith says that Antwan Hamilton, 23, has been charged with six counts of possession of schedule III controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver controlled substance, and one count of possession of controlled substance on prison premises.
Smith says that Hamilton is a correctional officer at Eastern Correctional Institution and was found with contraband on him by prison staff.
Hamliton was arrested on Friday and given a $14,000 secured bond.
His first court date is set for June 8th.
