CRAVEN COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Construction will affect parts of Highway 70 in Craven County this weekend.
The on/off ramps at Clark Road will be closed in varying intervals between Friday, April 12 and Sunday, April 14.
The entrance ramp will be closed between 7 a.m. April 12 and 7 p.m. April 14. The exit ramp will be closed between 7 a.m. April 13 and 7 p.m. April 14.
A detour will send eastbound U.S. 70 drivers needing to access Clarks Road to exit 411, where they will take N.C. 43, drive over the highway and turn left to enter U.S. 70 West to reach the Clarks Road exit.
For Clarks Road drivers wanting to reach U.S. 70 East, take U.S. 70 West to the Tuscarora Road Exit, continue to the stop sign at the top of the ramp, turn left onto Tuscarora Road; then drive over U.S. 70 and take a left onto U.S. 70 East.
Crews will replace the asphalt as part of the larger project to bring a 32 mile stretch of Hwy. 70 up to interstate standards.
The section is going to be re-named I-42.
