Ocracoke Island is still recovering from Hurricane Dorian, and one college in the East continues a campaign to help.

Donations of Tubs of Love from Beaufort Community College are being sent to Ocracoke Island. The tubs are filled to the brim with essentials for those still recovering in Ocracoke from Hurricane Dorian.

The donations ranged from toilet paper and cleaning supplies to generators. Beaufort Community College student government leaders and their honor society Gamma Beta Phi started the supply fundraiser.

Also, 23 other community colleges donated as well, like Bladen Community College, who brought more than 20 tubs on Friday.

One student, Roxanne Tate, said the supplies will help with their recovery.

"Water got into almost everything there the houses, the schools. And basically, it was unlivable. So we as much as they need building materials and stuff as well before they can do that, they have to clean up," said Tate.

Roxanne Tate also said she remembers the help they got only a year ago when Beaufort was suffering from the effects of a hurricane and knows how important it is to return the favor.
