Classic car show held in downtown New Bern
Beautiful weather brought lots of people out and about in downtown New Bern for an antique car show Saturday.
Classic cars dating back nearly 100 years lined Middle Street during the 27th annual spring car show sponsored by the First Capital Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Cars have to be at least 25 years old to be entered in the show.
Larry Rucker, a founding member of the First Capital Chapter says the organization does the show every year to get people excited about classic cars.
"I just wish we had more people come out and enjoy the cars," Rucker says. "Everybody here seems like they're having a good time. We've had a real good turn out today there's almost 100 cars we had here today."
Rucker says you don't have to have a classic car to join the organization.
They meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be May 29 at 7 p.m. at Moore's Old Tyme Barbeque in New Bern.
