Chocowinity students travel the globe through schoolwork

BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) Students from Chocowinity Primary School had a chance to travel to different continents across the world all while staying inside of their school.

When students arrived at school Monday they were greeted by hallways decorated as different continents that they have studied over the past few weeks.

Over the weekend some teachers and their families came in and transformed the hallways.

During the trip, students arrived at the airport and boarded a flight to travel to Paris and took a bus ride through the country side.

Some of the highlights of the trip included their experience at the great barrier reef as well as a stop in Africa to see lions, elephants and crocodiles.

Teachers who helped over the weekend say it took about 36 hours to create.

Tuesday night parents of students are invited to come in and see the decorations and see what the children have been learning.

There are also books throughout the school so children can read about each continent.
