Checkpoint nets 22 charges in Craven County

CRAVEN COUNTY, NC (WITN) - More than 20 drivers are facing charges after getting stopped at a weekend checkpoint.

Officers stopped traffic at the intersection of Streets Ferry Road and Piney Neck Road in Vanceboro on Saturday night.

Law enforcement agencies from Vanceboro, Bridgeton, Craven and Jones counties, as well as the Highway Patrol and SBI participated in the joint effort.

Twenty-two people are facing charges ranging from drug possession, driving with expired registrations and not wearing a seat belt.
