Ceremony set to officially open Innovation Early College High School

GREENVILLE (WITN) - One Eastern Carolina school system will mark the official opening of its newest school tonight with a special ceremony.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 6 tonight to officially open the Innovation Early College High School. The ceremony will be held in the “D” wing of the Brewster Building on the campus of ECU. The school’s first freshman class starts classes next week.

Classes offered by the school will focus on science, technology, engineering, art-design and math. Students enrolled in the school will earn a diploma from Pitt County Schools while also pursuing two years of transferable college credits. This will all happen over the course of the school’s five-year program.
