CARTERET COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Communities in the down east areas of Carteret County continue to dig out and clean up after Hurricane Dorian brought significant amounts of storm surge and rainfall.
Residents on Cedar Island who decided to not evacuate say they saw water hit portions of the island that it hadn't during previous storms.
The region was also busy today with emergency crews stationed at the ferry taking supplies to Ocracoke Island.
Trees and debris were still piled up on the side of the roads.
Water from previously flooded streets could also still be seen in several down east areas.
