Carteret County non-profit receives $50k to help Florence victims

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - As some prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, others are still recovering from the last.

The non-profit Carteret Long Term Recovery Alliance is receiving a $50,000 check Wednesday to help people who are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.

The money will cover storm-related damages and housing repairs.

The non-profit focuses on providing resources for people from natural disasters throughout the county and helps them prepare for future storms.
