Blounts Creek man had $250,000 winning lottery ticket on truck's dash for nearly a week

BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - An Eastern Carolina man drove around for nearly a week with a $250,000 winning scratch-off ticket on the dash of his truck.

Robert Moore, of Blounts Creek, is the latest big winner of the 20X The Cash game from the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Moore bought the winning ticket at the Cypress Station on Highway 33 outside of Chocowinity.

"I get tickets regularly," Moore said. "Sometimes I wait to scratch them. I threw this one on the dash of my truck and just forgot about it."

Several days passed and the home contractor decided to clean out his truck, finding the ticket still there. "I figured I should probably scratch it," Moore said. "I couldn't believe what I saw when I did."

After taxes, Moore took home $176,867. He plans to use the money to upgrade his home.
