Local moms got a chance to learn more about how to keep their babies healthy.
The Pitt County Health Department hosted it's 26th annual "Making Pitt's Babies Fit Maternity Fair" Sunday.
Moms, grandparents and other family members visiting the fair got to talk to health professionals and local businesses about all the resources available to new moms in the Pitt County area.
Organizers say the fair is all about educating parents and families.
"I hope they take some information home with them that will create a safer environment for their babies and young children and also for any future pregnancies to come, because we know if you're healthy beforehand, you're more likely to have a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby," said Jennifer Hardee of the Pitt County Health Department.
Hardee says this is the main event for educating young mothers every year. The next big event will be a breastfeeding class scheduled for August.
