PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Deputies in one Eastern Carolina county have arrested a woman after they say she stole mail out of mailboxes.
Hollie Chaimowitz,44, of Ayden, is facing 14 different counts of felony larceny and identity theft.
Pitt County deputies say over the past two weeks they received numerous reports of mail being stolen, most of it containing personal checks.
They say Chaimowitz then tried to cash the checks at financial institutions around Greenville. Deputies say she also was using someone else's ID when she was attempting to cash the stolen checks.
The woman was jailed on a $125,000 bond and has a December 12th court date.
Deputies say they're still investigating the case and they expect more charges against Chaimowitz in the near future.
