Authorities are searching for a man they say tried to rob one bank and successfully robbed another on Monday.
Nash County deputies say the attempted robbery happened just before 5:00 p.m. at the Southern Bank on Red Oak Road in Battleboro.
A man told a teller that she was going to give him $30,000. He acted suspiciously while in the bank, and left after employees did not give him any money, according to a news release.
A short time late the State Employees Credit Union on Fairview Road in Rocky Mount was robbed by a man fitting the same description.
Anyone with information on these two cases is urged to call Nash County deputies at 252-459-1570.
