A statewide Silver Alert has been canceled for a missing Craven County woman.
Frances Higginbotham, 74, was reported missing this morning by River Bend police.
The alert was canceled late this afternoon. Police have not said where the woman was found or the circumstances.
The Craven County Sheriff’s Office and River Bend Police Department are asking for the public's help locating Frances Higginbotham, 74, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
Higginbotham is described as being 5’2" and 120 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen at the Shell Station at 4891 US-17 South in New Bern around 8:20 p.m. Monday, she was wearing white slacks and a multicolored short sleeve shirt.
Higginbotham was operating a 2013 Blue Nissan Versa with a North Carolina license plate CML-3836. Authorities believe she may be traveling to her home in Camden County.
