You will soon be able to have a mimosa with your Sunday morning brunch in several places in Eastern Carolina.

Atlantic Beach passed the "Sunday brunch bill" this morning, while Surf City okayed it Wednesday night.

State lawmakers passed the bill that allows local governments to decide whether they would permit restaurants and hotels to sell mixed drinks as early as 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. The law, which the governor signed on Friday, also allows stores to sell beer and wine at the earlier hour.

The two towns joined several others who have quickly approved of the change.
