A second arrest has been made in the shooting of two community college baseball players last month in one Eastern Carolina city.

Lydell Carter, Jr., of Ahoskie, was charged with two counts each of attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Carter was nabbed Saturday night in Ahoskie by Hertford County deputies.

Greenville police had arrested 17-year-old Iwanniza Love, of Greenville, last Monday for the shooting as well.

The shooting happened March 24th during a home invasion at Carolina Creek Apartments in Greenville.

Stephen Polansky, 22, and his 20-year-old brother, Michael, were wounded. Both brothers are on the Pitt Community College baseball team.

The 18-year-old Carter was jailed on an $800,000 secured bond.

Police say more arrests are possible in the case.
