Lights will be twinkling in uptown Greenville Friday night as the city gears up for the annual tree lighting ceremony.

Greenville Gives is happening at Five Points Plaza on the corner of 5th and Evans Street on December 6.

The holiday tree will be lit and non-profits will be there collecting donations to benefit those in need in the community.

There will also be crafts and activities for the entire family, free treats from local businesses, free horse-drawn carriage rides and performances from local talent.

Mayor PJ Connelly will also be there to read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and see everyone’s favorite special guest, Santa Claus!

If you would like to give back, you can bring the following items to donate: Paper products- paper towels and toilet paper, non-perishable foods, dental hygiene items, small bath essentials, adult hygiene items, sock, & toys for Toys for Tots!

The event runs from 5-7 pm.
