All state ferries shut down due to Hurricane Dorian
All of North Carolina's state ferries are now shut down.
The state says due to deteriorating weather caused by the approach of Hurricane Dorian, the Ferry Division suspended the Currituck-Knotts Island Ferry as of 3:00 p.m.
That was the last of the seven regular routes to close.
Managers say they will monitor weather conditions and resume runs on each route when it's deemed safe.
