Coastal towns implement additional restrictions

CARTERET COUNTY, NC (WITN) Two towns on our coast are asking people to self-quarantine if they traveled outside of the county.

Anyone who is staying overnight in Atlantic Beach or Pine Knoll Shores will have to self quarantine for two weeks if they stayed somewhere outside the county.

The order starts in Atlantic Beach Friday and on Monday in Pine Knoll Shores.

This doesn't apply to essential workers or if you leave the county for a medical emergency.

Pine Knoll Shores is also implementing a curfew between the hours of 10 p.m.- 5 a.m. That doesn't apply to essential workers, medical trips or travel along Hwy 58.

Both towns declared state of emergencies back in March.
