6th Don Skinner GuitarFest happening in Washington Saturday

WASHINGTON, NC (WITN) - The Beaufort County Traditional Music Association is hosting its 6th annual Don Skinner GuitarFest on Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Turnage Theater.

Admission is free but donations will be accepted to benefit Hurricane Florence recovery efforts.

Here's the schedule of events:
-7:40 – 8:30 PM Strung Together Band
Strung Together is a family band, born on George and Dare Oliver’s front porch in downtown New Bern, NC.

- 6:20 – 7:10 PM Peace Soldier
Peace Soldier is six rockin' guys who love playing mostly rock and blues music from the 60's, 70's and 80's.

- 5:10 – 6:00 PM Hot Buttered Grits
Hot Buttered Grits is an improvisational acoustic / electric band from the New Bern area.

-4:00 – 4:50 PM The Neuse River Ramblers
The Neuse River Ramblers add a touch of bluegrass flavor to traditional and contemporary tunes playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and electric bass.

The event is co-sponsored by Arts of the Pamlico and held in memory of longtime BCTMA member Don Skinner.
