NEW BERN, NC (WITN) The Craven County District Attorney's Office says a man and a teenager have been convicted for their roles in the robbery of the New Bern KFC on Neuse Boulevard back in February.
The D.A.'s office says 22-year-old Detarrio Nelson and 16-year-old Marvin Berry pled guilty Monday in superior court just before their cases were called for jury trials.
Investigators say that the two were former employees of the restaurant who had been fired.
Nelson is said to have robbed the store at gunpoint while Berry acted as a lookout.
Nelson was sentenced to between 5 and 7-years in prison, while Berry was given between two and three-and-a-half years.
The judge did knock off 10 months from Berry's sentence because of his age, if he completes a series of programs.
