Stone Soup fundraiser benefits the hungry

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A local church will be serving up some soup to benefit the hungry.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church is hosting their 6th annual Stone Soup fundraiser on Wednesday, April 17 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the church.

Each meal purchased will help fund food supplies for the church's food pantry, which feeds up to 600 people weekly.

Pottery will be for sale as well, made by potters both locally and around the country.

A meal of soup, bread, salad and dessert is $8 or $25 with a purchase of a pottery soup bowl.

This year's event will also feature a take-out truck for anyone that wants to swing by quickly on their lunch break.

Seventeen local restaurants will be serving soup, including: aTavola! Market Cafe, Basil's, Cafe Duo, Christy's Europub, Dickinson Avenue Public House, Great Harvest Bread Company, Newk's Eatery, Nino's, Scarborough Fare Catering, St. Paul's own Larry Barbour, Starlight Cafe, Texas Roadhouse, Coastal Fog, The Rickhouse, The Scullery, Village Point Market and Zoe's Kitchen.
