NASH COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Forty bricks of heroin were found during a traffic stop Wednesday evening in one Eastern Carolina county.
Nash County deputies say the vehicle was stopped for motor vehicle violations at the intersection of U.S. 64-Alternate and Highway 231.
A search found the 40 bricks under the driver's seat.
Tyrone Foreman and Jasmine Watson, both from Rocky Mount, were charged with two counts of trafficking in opium and maintain a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances.
The two were jailed on $100,000 bonds.
In addition to Nash County deputies, the Tar River Regional Drug Task Force assisted with the arrests.
