$1.5 million reimbursement for Havelock debris Removal

HAVELOCK, NC (WITN) - The city of Havelock has received help from FEMA with funding for debris removal.

Havelock in Craven County has been granted a 1.5 Million dollar reimbursement for debris removal following Hurricane Florence.

In September, the city hired contractors to remove vegetation and other debris from the public right of way throughout the city until late March.

FEMA's Public Assistance program provides grants for state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations to reimburse the cost of debris removal, emergency protective measures, and permanent repair work.
