Local McDonald's owner gives employees hurricane help
While Hurricane Florence left countless victims wondering how they would be able to get their lives back to normal, 17 of those victims were given hope by their employer Monday.
Local McDonald's owner Wade Dixon gave $1,000 checks to 17 of his employees, some of which were left with nowhere to live after the hurricane.
The employees said one $1,000 may not sound like a lot, but it makes a big difference at a time like this.
A fundraiser gathered five-percent of sales from 28 local McDonald's stores over the past two weeks, allowing the money to be put toward helping employees who suffered significant losses from Hurricane Florence.
