Natalie Parsons joined the WITN First Alert Weather team in February 2023 as a Forecaster originally from Massapequa, N.Y.

Natalie can easily be summed up as a "Jack of All Trades."

Her broadcast career kicked off in the frigid cold of Fargo, N.D. as a News Reporter/Multimedia Journalist from 2014-2017 at KVRR News and our sister station Valley News Live. From there, Natalie headed to the "famously hot city" of Columbia, S.C. to be the Morning Traffic & Lifestyle Reporter for WACH FOX from 2017-2019. In both places, she also spent time on the radio airwaves as an On-Air Personality.

She did take a brief time away from news where she freelanced as a Producer and Camera Operator for LIVE sporting events with FloSports, and also Emceed various promotional events including the March of Dime's "March For Babies" in Columbia, S.C. and NBC's "Painting The Path To Super Bowl LVI" for Sunday Night Football in Baltimore, M.D.

(Fun fact: Even though she initially went to college for Broadcast Journalism, shortly after graduation she spent a few years working in the Music Industry at a Record Label on Long Island, N.Y. in the digital streaming department.)

In terms of weather, she's always had a fascination with it since a young age. In fact, starting with something as simple and goofy as “Puddle Hopping” (as her mother called it) where she'd go outside after a storm fully decked out in rain gear to stomp and jump around in puddles as a toddler. Then when a little older, she'd go watch her older siblings play sports, but instead of actually watching them she’d be looking up at the clouds mesmerized by their shapes and how they continuously passed by. Flash forward to her early 20s while living on Long Island during Hurricane Sandy, she says, "I’ll never forget the ferocious roar of the storm and the mind-blowing destruction that Mother Nature was capable of in an area that I once called home. Sandy changed everything."

While she did cover storm damage, blizzard preparation and hurricane evacuations while working in news, it was in 2021 that she decided to go back to school and make things official getting both meteorology and weather forecasting certification.

When Natalie is not forecasting weather, she's trying out new Gluten/Dairy-Free recipes, geeking out to all things holistic living and "clean beauty," traveling and hanging out with her "foster fail" furry daughter Ginger (a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix).

You can catch Natalie during the Weekend Morning and Weekday Noon newscasts.
