Ben Byrum

Ben’s career with WITN started back in March of 2023. Ben is actively studying at East Carolina University and working towards earning his Bachelor's degree in communications. Ben grew up right here in eastern North Carolina--originally from Aulander. He attended Pitt County Schools Early College High School and was a part of the inaugural class.

Ben got his start in broadcasting at 17 years old as a radio host and producer. He would often produce ECU sports broadcasts for the Playfly Sports Network while producing and hosting commercial radio talk shows centered around sports.

Outside of his broadcasting career, Ben enjoys time outdoors with his dog, Bonnie. He is also an avid sports fan, rooting heavily for the ECU Pirates and the Carolina Panthers.
