LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Goldsboro man was killed in a crash where three others were sent to the hospital with serious injuries, including a two-year-old.

The Highway Patrol says the single-vehicle crash happened around 9:45 p.m. Monday on Washington Street near Whispering Pines Drive, just of La Grange.

Killed was 46-year-old Paul Thompson, a passenger in the pickup truck.

Troopers say Leshae Doremus, also of Goldsboro, was heading into La Grange when the pickup truck went off the right side of the road, she overcorrected, went across the road, rolled over, and hit a tree.

Two other people in the truck, 37-year-old Nicole Pendleton, of Pikeville, and 2-year-old Ayasha Smith, of Goldsboro, were taken to ECU Health Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Highway Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
